Simple Techniques for Building Doors & Drawers
We’re nearing the end of the road for the fall series of seminars on building a workbench. I hope you’ve all been able to take something away from these sessions. The goal was to offer you a tip or technique (or two) that you could take home to enhance your dad-to-day woodworking experience. What’s been really great is to watch a big project come together before our eyes with very few problems (especially now that we’ve added a “corded” drill/driver to our arsenal of tools).
As I mentioned in my last post, this week Dave Fremming will tackle building the doors and drawers for the workbench cabinet. He’s got some good suggestions for making this process easy, especially the drawers. He’s decided to use the new Leigh Super Jig for the half blind dovetails and he’ll be using it in the “production” mode. Should be interesting.
This week’s bonus download is from Woodsmith No. 177: Quick and Accurate Drawer Slide Jigs

I enjoy the seminars a LOT and learn a LOT.
A couple of years ago I bought a Leigh D4R dovetail jig. I struggled but managed to accomplish satisfactory results. I would like to see an all day hands on seminar using this jig so that I can approach it with confidence and use it to the max – including the various templates (dovetail, multiple mortise and box joints).
I find learning curves a frustrating challenge. Maybe that reflects on me but something tells me you would sell a lot of jigs and accessories with such a class.
Thank you for your fine work!!
